The Posidyne® Multi-Speed
Drive is a Posiydne clutch/brake with a second clutch connected to an
internal worm gear set. The dual clutches are used to engage the main
drive motor or the secondary motor driving through the internal gear set.
This versatile design can be used as a slow down for soft touch,
machine set-up, slow speed reversing, and other applications. 13 different
internal gear ratios range from 5:1 to 96:1.
The High Speed Reversing
Drive is designed for rapid reversing applications. A motor rotating in
the forward direction is connected to the primary clutch. A second motor
rotating in the opposite direction is connected through a secondary clutch.
By actuating the proper clutch, reversing is handled within the HSRvD.
The motors can run continuously without inefficient stops or starts.
Both the MSDR and
the HSRvD utilize oil shear technology to provide accurate positioning
and repeatability, excellent heat dissipation for high cycle rates, and
long service life.
